Description :A late 19th century Tibetan damaru (drum), this damaru was probably used by a Tibetan Shaman during his religious practices. The damaru is beautifully painted with wrathful deity and skull paintings on a brown colored background. The sheep skin used on the damaru is also old but not as old as the damaru. A beautiful 18th century textile is attached to the damaru.

The chimah box is painted on all four sides with the front and the back being decorated with a central flaming jewel symbol surrounded by two deity with wings amidst cloud pattens. The two sides are simply decorated with cloud patterns on a yellow colored background. The carved handles on the two sides are beautifully done.
